Scholarship Scams
Never apply for scholarships that ask for fees, taxes, or financial aid loan application fees. If you must pay money to get money, it might be a scam. Never invest more than a postage stamp to get information about scholarships. Remember, nobody can guarantee that you'll win a scholarship. Legitimate scholarship foundations do not charge application fees.

To report a suspicious scholarship offer, write a letter summarizing your experience with the company to an anti-fraud organization. Include the details of your complaint, the steps you took to try to obtain satisfaction, and the company's response to your efforts. Report suspicious scholarship offers to:
